I am an HPCSA registered independent Educational Psychologist and have been practicing since 2013. I completed my undergraduate and Honours degrees in Psychology at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN). In addition I completed my Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) at UKZN, specialising in high school English First Language, English Second Language and Life Orientation. In 2011 I completed my Masters in Education Psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand.
I completed my internship at Epworth Children’s Village in 2012 and was trained within the psychodynamic paradigm. I presented my Masters research “Academic Writing Ability and Academic Performance of First Year University Students in South Africa” at the International Congress of Psychology (ICP) in Cape Town in 2012. I have written for various parenting and mental health magazines and journals on a variety of topics. I have also featured on eNCA and 702. I will be presenting at the Proudly Primary Conference at Epworth School in Pietermaritzburg in August, on 'Working Perfectly with Imperfect Attachment.'
From January of 2014 to September of 2015 I worked at Eden College as part of the therapy team. I joined the Cedarwood School team in 2016, moving into the position of Learning Support Coordinator from 2019 until the end of 2022.
I now run a private practice where I offer play therapy, individual therapy and assessments. I also conduct workshops on the WISC-V and WIAT-III, and assessment supervision for practitioners. I have recently started 2 assessment supervision groups.
